Manned
by Flight Information Service officers, provides a Basic ATC service to
aircraft operating outside controlled airspace. This is not a Control service
but FISOs can provide an Alerting Service, obtain aeronautical information
for pilots, pass flight details to airfields and obtain Controlled Airspace
joining clearances if required.
FISOs
are not permitted to provide Surveillance services.
